|Position:||Web GIS Data Distribution Specialist|
Innovate! Inc. is currently seeking a Web Data Distribution Specialist to provide web data management support for the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) national and regional programs at the BLM's National Operations Center (NOC), Denver Federal Center, Lakewood, CO starting in November. The position is contingent upon a contract being awarded to Innovate!, and the start date will be determined in part on the security clearance process.
The Web Data Distribution Specialist will have primary responsibilities for web data management support to the BLM’s Rapid Ecoregional Assessment (REA), Assessment, Inventory, and Monitoring (AIM), Sage Grouse Initiative, Geospatial Modernization, and other Landscape and National EGIS program activities.
As part of BLM’s NOC EGIS you will be working within their enterprise geospatial architecture, an environment for the collection, editing, management, analysis, mapping, printing, publishing, and sharing of geospatial data across the BLM. The NOC EGIS System consolidates and enhances the delivery of geospatial services to users through the BLM in support of mission objectives. The NOC EGIS system is focused on configurable tools and capabilities in commercial off the shelf (COTS) GIS software under the Department of Interior (DOI)/ESRI enterprise license. The NOC EGIS system directly supports datasets for National Corporate Standards, Greater Sage Grouse, Rapid Eco-regional Assessments, and the Landscape Approach as well as relevant authoritative reference data and a variety of BLM National Project data. Four (4) distinct but complementary data portals along with managed geospatial data are the major components of the EGIS architecture which support geospatial performance across the bureau.
Part of the EGIS structure is the growing need for national and landscape level geospatial data representing different BLM program areas. The NOC BLM team has established a sequential process to develop national-level views of various data layers that ensure field stewardship and continual updating of select geospatial themes. This process includes a scheduled replication of data from the field to state to national and ensures data standards adherence via monthly quality control (QC) checking and reporting for each state and theme.
